I am a Connecticut furniture designer and maker. My workshop is located on a bluff above the Shepaug River in Washington Depot, a small village located in the rolling hills of Litchfield County, Connecticut. I design and build hand-crafted furniture to meet your design needs and express my creativity, using carefully selected wood and following the esthetics of simplicity, exposed joinery, and letting the form shine without unnecessary embellishments. My work follows the simplicity of design in the spirit of Nakashima, Mid-Century Modern, Arts & Crafts, Prairie School of Design, and Shaker principles.

Some clients are understandably reluctant to sign a proposal without fairly complete designs for custom work. I now offer a furniture design consultation, which at a very reasonable fee allows clients to get two or three CAD designs to review before we go to the proposal stage.

See the featured Mid-Century Modern Kitchen Table, Walnut Side Board/ Credenza, Skewed Leg Waterfall Side Table, and either of the Seating Benches. I look forward to working with you on a hand-crafted furniture project that will enhance your home and become a family heirloom. I work with clients using my existing designs as a starting point but often we collaborate on a new design that meets the client’s needs and we iterate on the design until the piece is ready for build.

Smaller tables can be safely shipped via FedEx, larger items can be delivered within 250 miles of my workshop for transportation expenses. I now have a reasonably priced national service as well with blanket wrap insured delivery, see my FAQ page for more details.
